I can't tell you how much we love the new products
we just got in. Photos don't really do it justice so
you'll just have to come in to see for yourself!!
Beautiful vintage inspired notebooks, stationery
goods and leather wallets. Most of it will likely go
fast but we should be seeing lots more from this
company in the near future.

Two San Francisco based designers stumbled upon
a family member's beer can collection tucked away
in his basement. The extensive collection includes
all shapes, styles and sizes of brew from around
the world, spanning 7 decades and 32 countries.
The duo photographed and documented the work
in a book that they aptly titled "Beer."
This amazing book lends insight into the evolution
of beer can design through its 500 images. Each
photo, shot against a white background, includes
the company name and time period. The layout
allows the reader to truly absorb the details of the
cans and appreciate the story each has to tell. For
anyone who appreciates beer for its refreshing
nature or simply enjoys gazing at beautiful images
of tin antiquities, this book is for you!!

New to the Emporium...
Joseph Opinel began making his knives in 1895 in
the Savoie region of France. By the 1940s over 200
million had been sold. The success of the knife rests
on the strength of the design itself, earning it status
in everyday French culture and design museums
alike. The No. 8 is the most popular for general use
and is often used to cut fruit, bread and cheese.
In recent years the use of stainless steel blades has
made the knife nearly maintenance free and exotic
wood handles like walnut have been introduced.
The Opinel knife is included in the Victoria and
Albert Museum in London as one of the "100
most beautiful products in the world"
Truly a design classic.

We all love records for the music but there's no
denying that some album covers are also great
works of art. This wall frame floats a record
album between two glass inserts. Each frame
holds one 12 x 12" album cover. For those
albums you want to display as well as listen to!
